Make existing tools for data management and breeding logistics available to molecular breeding projects through the IBP
Deliver preliminary crop data management tools to support a breeding pipeline. These tools must facilitate sample and pedigree tracking for field and laboratory activities, production of fieldbooks, design and analysis of field trials, capture and validation of phenotype and genotype data for breeding decisions. Tools to facilitate general breeding activities are available from a range of sources, including breeding programmes and networks such as ICIS and other GCP programmes. The current status and timeline for evolution of these tools into a workflow system is illustrated below.
- [Activity 2.1.1] Identify, deploy and support tools facilitating management of germplasm lists, pedigrees, intellectual property and other passport data
- Activity 2.1.2 Identify, deploy and support tools for management of phenotypic characterisation and evaluation
- [Activity 2.1.3] Identify, deploy and support tools for management of genotypic characterisation
